SCORZE. SOMETHING ABOUT ME

I've never told you anything about me, neither have I shown you any photos. I will do it, probably. For the moment I will tell you about something really iportant for me.

 

Non vi ho mai parlato di me, ne vi ho mai mostrato una mia foto. Lo farò, probabilmente, con il tempo. Per ora vi parlerò di qualcosa che mi appartiene.

 

The photos you can see here above are taken from my thesis: I graduated in fashion design in 2010 and this is the project I created for the final exam, a collection of black accessories, dedicated more to the tactile perception than to the visual one.

Quelle che vedete qui sopra sono immagini tratte dalla mia tesi di laurea: mi sono laureata in design della moda nel 2010 e questo è il progetto che ho sviluppato per il lavoro finale, una collezione di accesori neri, dedicati più alla percezione tattile che a quella visiva.

“Scorze – Feeling the landscape on your skin” is the title of the project realized for my thesis, chosen because the objects – all elaborated from natural black leather – have been modeled according to different textures which mimic the roughness of the existing surfaces in nature, and therefor they have harsh and crusty aspect.

“Scorze – Sentire il paesaggio sulla pelle” è il titolo del progetto, scelto poiché gli oggetti – tutti elaborati a partire dalla pelle di un unico colore – sono stati modellati secondo diverse texture che simulano le asperità delle superfici esistenti in natura, e di conseguenza hanno un aspetto coriaceo, incrostato.

Skin is like the shell of the human body, and at the same time, it’s like a casing for every living thing; hence the title for the subheading: the skin is our landscape, it’s the mean through whom we get in contact with the world. Just like the other bodies surfaces communicate, so does the does our skin about us: it’s through her that we get connected to the world. If on one side she protects us from what might harm our body, on the other it allows us to know what surrounds us.

 

La pelle è la superficie che riveste il corpo umano e, allo stesso tempo, è l’involucro di ogni cosa esistente; di qui lo spunto per il sottotitolo: la pelle è il nostro paesaggio, è ciò attraverso cui entriamo a far parte di esso. Così come le superfici degli altri corpi comunicano, la pelle parla di noi: è attraverso di lei che entriamo in contatto con il mondo. Se da un lato ci protegge da ciò che potrebbe nuocere al nostro corpo, dall’altro ci permette di conoscere ciò che ci circonda.

I've always loved Helmut Lang, but the pre-fall collection that Nicole and
Michael Covolos drew for 2013 is more than ever in my ropes. I love the
transition  from light shades of gray to black overall, while the cuts are  so
simple and yet so perfect to give the garnments an extraordinary wearability.
Ho sempre amato amato Helmut Lang, ma la pre-fall che Nicole e Michael
Covolos hanno disegnato per il 2013 è più che mai nelle mie corde. Adoro la
gradazione dai toni chiari del grigio al nero totale, mentre i tagli sono così
